Where can you find free ranging Boone & Crockett class
trophy whitetails within one hour of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex?
Would you guess on a 15,000-acre ranch that has been in the same family
for seven generations and spanning well over 140 years?
The Richards Ranch in Jack County, Texas (approximately 60
miles northwest of Fort Worth) has a year-round supplemental feeding program
and offers upscale facilities and accommodations for the trophy whitetail
hunter. The ranch herd had never
been commercially hunted until 1998. At that time an intensive management program was put in place by the owners
with the help of Texas Parks & Wildlife and a game biologist.
The first year guided hunts were offered, three bucks over 160
B&C points, two over 150, and several over 140 were harvested, with an average
field dressed weight of 153 pounds.
The ranch offers one to four-day guided and unguided hunts for
whitetail bucks and does, feral hogs, Rio Grande turkeys, Varmits, and waterfowl in addition to dove
and quail hunting. All hunts are
conducted from blinds, tripods, or 4-wheel drive vehicles and in the
most ethical fair chase methods, which comply with all Texas Parks &
Wildlife regulations and guidelines.
After your day of hunting, upscale lodging, quiet
relaxation and enjoyment of the outdoor fireplace await you.
Large and Corporate Groups are our speciality.
